Here is a list of the best dentists in Tennessee, based on patient reviews, awards, and professional recognition: This list is not based on advertising or payment. Dentists cannot 'buy' their way onto my list.

These are dentists that I have become familiar with over the last 40 years, either by personal interaction, online, at Continuing Education courses, or by reputation.

They all have exceptional skills, and are experts in one or more fields. I would trust these dentists to work in my mouth without hesitation!

This list is not comprehensive, and I will be adding to it regularly.

Dr Daniel Bird DDS

Dr Bird received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee in 2003. After working for 12 years, he set up his own office in 2015 with a vision to use the best technology available with the best customer service.

He has invested heavily in his own training and in lasers, modern digital imaging systems, and 3-D printing. However, his office is nothing like a traditional dentists' office; there is no waiting room - you straight through to your treatment room. There are no dental smells, and no typical dental noises!

He also has a special interest in being highly efficient - you can get a crown completed in your lunch hour!

Dr Matthew McMasters DDS

Dr McMasters graduated in 1994 with a dual degree in Chemistry and Biology. He worked as a research chemist for Zeneca Specialties in their pharmaceutical division, and was involved in the research into AIDS, cancer, osteoporosis, and Paget’s Disease.

After 3 ½ years, Dr. McMasters decided to continue his education, and graduated DDS from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 2001. He returned to Pulaski, and in late 2010 had the opportunity to also work in Ardmore. For a few years, he practiced in both locations, but eventually moved full-time to Ardmore.

Dr. McMasters has built his practice based on strong principles of honesty, integrity, and compassion. He is committed to excellence and working side by side with patients to address their needs. He has a special interest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry and he strives to treat every patient as conservatively as possible. He will only recommend treatment that he would have performed on himself or his family.
